Mat your photos with cardstock.
This is a quick video on how you can create your own design for a photo mat.
There should be enough space at the top for the width of the photo.
If your frame will be permanently affixed to the picture you can glue it at this point.
The measurement should be equal on both adjacent sides.
Place your frame on a new piece of card stock and tracing the outside of the entire frame except the top.
You can use photos of any size and shape in a scrapbook.
4 cut your design out and repeat steps 1 through 3 for as many diy photo mats as you need to make.

This will keep the picture from rippling under the glass expecially if you live in a humid climate use dark cardstockto keep any printing from the backside showing through the front.
Twine or thin ribbon.
Measure from the edge of the paper to the edge of your photo.
If you are creating a multi use frame add a photo holder to the back of the frame.
